Nikki McGowan

Nikki holds a degree in psychology with a concentration in child development from Towson University. She has gained her culinary experience working in numerous restaurants in and around Baltimore including Clyde's Restaurant Group and Iron Bridge Wine Company as well as cooking for her own large family (she has 3 children that love to eat!) When not teaching little ones the art of cooking, she co-hosts "Child Life TV Cooking Show" at John's Hopkins Children's Center.

Joan McCabe
Instructor/Party Planner
Joan acquired her culinary skills "in the field". She is mother to 4 grown children and grandmother of 7. Joan has been working with kids to create yummy, nutritious meals for over 30 years and continues to delight her adult kids and grandkids alike. When not feeding her large family or teaching little ones to cook, she works as a registered nurse in critical care at John's Hopkins Hospital.

Lauren Jones
Instructor/Dessert Master
Lauren Jones attended the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York. She has since gathered culinary experience while working for a string of prestigious gourmet restaurants around the world, including serving as sous chef under José Andrés and Katsuya Fukushima at Café Atlantico in Washington, D.C. Lauren formed an intimate relationship with nature while working at Te Oranga, a small organic farm in New Zealand. Lauren received her training in the fine art of professional cake decorating by Elin Katz at Rosebud Cakes located in Beverly Hills, California.
CKCS often works with well known chefs that make guest appearances at their classes including Rich Karroll formerly of "Ace of Cakes" as seen on Food Network
